Ms. Marino joined Conklin Benham, P.C., in March of 2013. Ms. Marino brings a diversity of legal experience to the firm, with specialties in workers' compensation litigation and appeals.
Ms. Marino graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy, summa cum laude, in 2007, with a Bachelor of Science Degree, with the honor of receiving the Jerome Rozyki Award for Excellence in Criminal Justice Studies. She graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2010, earning honors in Legal Research and Writing, and Environmental Law. She also participated in the Mock Trial program.
The diversity of legal experience Ms. Marino brings to Conklin Benham began during law school, when she clerked for the firm of O'Reilly Rancilio, P.C. In addition to expanding her criminal justice background in assisting with the firm's municipal prosecutorial work, she was also actively involved in a variety of the firm's civil litigation and transactional practice areas, including banking, municipal law, police defense, school law, commercial and consumer collections, bankruptcy, business and estate planning, and commercial transactions. Also while in law school, Ms. Marino clerked for the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center, where she was involved in various aspects of judicial and administrative litigation and appeals.
Following law school and admittance to the State Bar of Michigan, Ms. Marino began focusing primarily on the practice area of workers' compensation, joining the firm of Lacey & Jones, LLP, in January of 2011. There, Ms. Marino maintained an active trial practice while also developing a specialty in workers' compensation appeals, representing both insurance companies and self-insured employers at all levels. She continues serving clients similarly in Conklin Benham's litigation and appellate groups.
Ms. Marino is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Appellate Practice and Workers' Compensation Sections, and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. She is also a member of the Michigan Self-Insurers' Association.
