Walter F. Noeske is president of Conklin Benham, P.C., an U.S. News &World Report Tier 1 Best Law Firm. He joined the firm in 1999. He handles a variety of cases, specializing in workers’ compensation and insurance defense.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Noeske was managing attorney and senior trial lawyer at Noeske, Kahn & Associates, P.C., in Troy, Michigan. He has experience in many areas of law including workers’ compensation, insurance and contract, employment, ERISA, wrongful death, nursing home malpractice, premises liability, construction, general negligence and property litigation.

An experienced lecturer, he has given presentations at numerous seminars and conferences on various aspects of law including: Treating the Injured Employee, Disabled or Disenchanted?   State of the Law: The Workers’ Compensation Act; Premises Liability in Michigan and “Workers’ Compensation, the ADA and FMLA”. He presented at the National RIMS convention on “Defending the Fraudulent Workers’ Compensation Claim.” He has spoken on various occasions at the Michigan Self-Insurers’ Association Conference and speaks annually at Worker’s Compensation seminars and workshops regarding the defense of workers compensation claims.

Walter Noeske is a member of the Negligence and Labor and Employment Law Sections of the America Bar Association; the Master Lawyers; Workers’ Compensation and Negligence Sections of the State Bar of Michigan; the Oakland County Bar Association; and the Michigan Self-Insurers’ Association.  He is also a member of Michigan Defense Trial Council, Inc. and a member of the Ethics and Insurance Law Committees of the Defense Research Institute.

For many years Walter Noeske has enjoyed a Martindale Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent, the highest ranking given in legal ability and ethical standards. He has repeatedly been listed in various publications including DBusiness Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Hour Magazine and others under “Best Lawyers in Metro Detroit.”  He has on multiple occasions been named by Crain’s Detroit Business as a “Top Lawyer.” He has consistently been listed in US News & World Reports as a “Best Lawyer.” In 2009 he was inducted into the respected American Bar Association College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers.  In 2019 and again in 2021 U.S. News & World Report named him as “Lawyer of the Year” and has been consistently listed in Best Lawyers in America.
